Further notes concerning licensing:

We have an up-to-date entertainment license for the village hall, which is valid until 2020. This grants permission to hold a range of different social events at the hall, and includes things like live bands, discos, catered parties, music recitals, auctions, etc.

Alcohol can be provided at an event without any restrictions provided it is not sold on the premises. If you would like to sell alcohol at your event (e.g. for fundraising purposes) then you will need to apply for a temporary alcohol license. This is quite a simple process and is explained in detail in this link.
